The Demerit Point System

The demerit-point method facilitates that drivers are optimizing their behavior and conduct while also protecting the public from risky drivers who misuse and abuse their driving privileges. Under the demerit point system, drivers who are convicted and found of executing driving-related offenses receive demerit points on their records. These demerit points are documented on the driver’s record for two years following the date of the offense. Thus, you must ensure that you are driving safely and disciplined at all times since your license may be suspended if you accumulate too many demerit points.
